A recent study from the Centre for Research & Development Monitoring (Expertisecentrum Onderzoek en Ontwikkelingsmonitoring, ECOOM) shows that the overall innovation rate in Flanders is on the rise again.
Even more innovation and collaboration than before
Compared to the results from 2013, the overall innovation rate has risen from 49% to 57%. In reaching this number, the companies in Flanders are even doing better than before the economic crisis of 2008.
Furthermore, collaboration is becoming an important aspect of innovation. Some 48% of companies indicate that they’re working together with other companies or institutions to develop groundbreaking products. These partnerships are mainly established within Flanders-based companies, but big companies are also working together with European peers.
